The Paclite Paddling Jacket is the perfect shell for kayakers who want the waterproof, breathable comfort of Gore-Tex but don't need the technicality of an expedition-level jacket. This jacket is extremely light and ultra-packable. A competition-cut underarm panel and the no-flair, no hood, functional fit make the Paddling Jacket an ace at shorter-range tours or a quick loop on the bay. It comes equipped with splash closures geared for more moderate paddling scenarios and patterning that provides a more relaxed fit than Kokatat's more technical gear. Gore-TEx paddling jacket
I've been using this jacket for those windy wet days when I windsurf in cool/cold water. It keeps me dry while giving me freedom of motion with both arms. The long sleeves not only protect from the sun and water but also permit me to use a short sleeve wetsuit thus eliminating the constriction that comes with a long sleeve wetsuit and permits my arms to last a bit longer when sailing. If I had my choice I'd make the jacket with a neoprene panel in front to give more protection from the cool spray encountered while sailing in waves. The jacket serves my purposes very well, however.
